There are various criteria described by Vastu Shastra based on which the choice of a site is determined. Vastu experts recommend square shape for any site. However, rectangular shape is also considered as good. If the person wants to go for some other shape, the Vastu experts first do a thorough soil examination. As per the process of the test, first they dig a hole and then refill the same with the dug soil. This way, they determine the characteristics of the soil and its relation with other four elements.
